Tell Me Where To Go: Los Angeles Edition

Several years ago while I was visiting NYC, I had this idea to get all of my Facebook friends to try and send me to different parts of the city. I had been visiting NYC for years and although I always had tried to find new places to go, sometimes I just was feeling lazy and didn’t want to bother. But this time, I posted on FB asking people if there was a spot they’d like to see while I was there.

The response I got from this was amazing and I ended up visiting parts of the city I had never been to before. Last year I issued the challenge again while in NYC and again it was a great time.

This time I’m in LA and I want YOU to TELL ME WHERE TO GO!

Here’s how it works.

Pick a spot you’d like me to travel to and take a photo of in the Greater Los Angeles (LA/Hollywood/Santa Monica/Glendale/Pasadena/etc) area. Post your suggestion in the comments for this post or my Facebook pages (personal or travel blog) and I’ll compile the full list of locations by the end of the week. Multiple suggestions are welcome.

Any locations that require a major fee (like theme parks, studio tours, etc) will not be considered due to the cost but I am willing to take photos at the entrances or near the attraction.

Submissions for this challenge will be accepted until June 21st, 2019.

To make it a bit even more fun, I’ll be taking all of the photos wearing my “Walking-talking comic book” jacket. It’s a silly thing to be wearing around by why not have some fun wtih it.

I’ll be doing my excursion around the city on Saturday June 22nd. If I have a lot of suggestions, I’ll continue it on Sunday June 23rd.

All photos will be posted to this blog’s Instagram account, Facebook page, and my personal Facebook timeline as I am doing the challenge that weekend. If you have an Instagram account and want to be tagged in the photo, please include your Instagram ID in your request.

So whether it’s the Hollywood Sign, Walk of Fame, Santa Monica Pier, or the La Brea Tar Pits, tell me where to go and I’ll do my best to make it there!

  • Hi! Hands-down my favorite place in LA was the Last Bookstore, 453 S Spring St. Any place with books is awesome, but this one also has exhibition spaces upstairs, a book tunnel and cool stores. It’s Downtown and away from the main beaches/Hollywood, but if you love books I can’t recommend it strongly enough.

  • Adding another one to the list because your project is so much fun! The Bradbury Building, 304 S Broadway. That’s where some scenes from Blade Runner were filmed. I’m not sure if there’s a entrance fee but what’s interesting is the inner courtyard with its glass skylights and iron-wrought elevators.
